If you see this error message and are unsure of what to do, this article will guide you through the next steps.Alike DR Offsite Vaulting connects to a secondary system known as the Offsite Module. The Offsite Module houses select backup data vaulted from the primary system.
Alike DR tracks the state of both the primary and offsite systems, ensuring both parties are synced up with the latest backup data and backup metadata. If they become seriously out of sync due to abnormal operation, you will see this error message on the primary site, either within Job Logs, or on the offsite status banner.
This message can appear under the following circumstances:
1) You reinstalled the Offsite Module and cleared out all data.
2) You restored the Offsite Module from tape or other backup media.
3) You have installed multiple instances of the Offsite Module, and have recently pointed Alike DR away from one instance of it and toward another.
4) You have reinstalled Alike DR at your primary location, or restored it from a backup.
In any of the cases above, it will not be possible to retain your existing backups that were sent offsite. You will need to start over with new vaults. To do so, follow this procedure at the primary Alike DR installation:
1) Stop all Alike services.
2) Open a command prompt and cd into your QuorumSoft install directory.
3) Then type the following command.
> resetOffsiteDataSync.cmd
4) This command will prompt you to agree. Enter y and hit enter.
5) Restart the services.
