Downloading the ABD image
Acquiring the ABD Image File.In order to use Enhanced backups, you will first need to make sure you have the ABD image. There are two ways to acquire the ABD:
1. Download the "Full" installer.
2. From within the Alike Manager UI, select "download ABD image" from the Settings->Network tab.
Downloading the Full Installer
The simplest way to ensure you have the ABD image file is to download and install the "full" installer of Alike. This can be found on our download page. This installer contains everything needed to begin performing Enhanced Backups. Please see the KB article on deploying ABDs to your Pools for further information.
Downloading the ABD Image from the Alike Manager
If you downloaded the Free edition of Alike and either purchased one or more licenses or are using a trial key, you can simply download the ABD image from within the Alike Manager. This saves you from reinstalling the full version on top of your existing install. To download the ABD image, navigate to the Settings->Network tab, as shown below, and click the text "click here to download"
Please wait for the entire image to download, as it can take a while depending on your internet connection. Do not close the Alike Manager UI during the download as this will cancel the process. The file size is approximately 45MB, and when complete will place a file under the "ext" folder in your Alike installation directory.
Once the download is completed, you should be able to deploy your ABD to your Pools as described in this article.
