Alike leverages newer technology available in the latest versions of XenServer, therefore it requires at a minimum Citrix XenServer 5.0, or later.
The Alike software itself will run on most modern Windows 32-bit systems, including the following:
Alike has modest needs for both memory and CPU, and will run on nearly anything that can keep an OS from the list above alive. Of course, a faster CPU can speed up the processing portion of a backup job considerably. The system that runs Alike will need sufficent hard drive space to both temporarily store a snapshot of the virtual machine it is processing, as well as for the archival of the de-duplicated data. This requirement can vary as the type of data and method of storage effect the ultimate size of the archive.
